Manchester City is planning a 60 million-pound ($95 million) bid for Tottenham winger Gareth Bale, the News of the World reported, without citing anyone.
City would offer 50 million pounds, and striker Emmanuel Adebayor, which it values at 10 million pounds, the newspaper said.
There is set to be a clear out of fringe players at City in January, the News of the World said. Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given, and England internationals Shaun Wright-Phillips, Joleon Lescott and Wayne Bridge may leave, the newspaper said.
