John Lewis Partnership Plc said weekly sales at its U.K. department stores increased 1.2 percent from the year-ago period, driven by demand for toys and menswear.
Sales were 103.7 million pounds ($163 million) in the week to Dec. 4, the London-based company said in an e-mailed statement today. The figure is a 3.7 percent increase on the previous week.
Weekly sales on the company’s website rose 47 percent on last year, to 24 million pounds.
