Germany’s Kauder Says Euro More Stable Than Dollar, Bild Says

The euro is “a stable currency, more stable than the dollar,” Volker Kauder, the caucus leader in parliament for Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union, said in an interview, according to Bild am Sonntag.

Financial markets must learn that in the European Monetary Union, several governments are responsible for the currency, and his party is against bonds to be issued by the European Union as opposed to individual states, as “every government must look after their finances themselves,” the newspaper cited Kauder as saying.
