Fewer U.K. Retailers Cut Prices Before Christmas, Times Says

Fewer U.K. retailers are cutting prices before Christmas after ordering stock “conservatively” to protect their margins, the Times of London reported today.

The percentage of stores advertising special offers dropped to 54 this year, compared with 60 percent last year and 75 percent in 2008, the Times said, citing findings by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
