U.K. Debit-Card Use Overtakes Cash Transactions, FT Reports

U.K. debit-card use overtook cash payments for the first time in the 12 months to Sept. 30, the Financial Times reported, citing the Payments Council, an industry group.
A total of 272 billion pounds ($426 billion) was spent by means of debit cards, compared with 269 billion pounds of cash, the newspaper said.
