Spain May Approve Tax Increase on Tobacco Today, Expansion Says

Spain may approve a tax increase on tobacco products today in order to shore up revenue to reduce the budget deficit, Expansion reported, citing local radio station Cadena Ser.

The government may raise the tax during today’s weekly cabinet meeting and the increase would be effective from Jan. 1, the newspaper added.
