New York's DiNapoli Says Jobless-Benefit Extension Worth $12.9 Bn to State

New York’s economy will be reduced by $12.9 billion if Congress doesn’t reinstate extended unemployment benefits New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli said, citing a study by his office.

DiNapoli’s analysis said about 200,000 of New York’s jobless-benefits recipients, or 38 percent, will lose their benefits this month if the extension isn’t renewed.
