Hungary Unions to Rally Against Cabinet Steps, Nepszabadsag Says

The confederation of Hungarian labor unions called for a demonstration tomorrow against government measures they claim hurt employees’ interests, Nepszabadsag reported, citing several union leaders.

Unions will protest against legislative practices they believe are “detrimental to the majority of society” and threaten the rule of law, and against a plan to spend private pension savings, the newspaper said. The rally could be the first in a series of demonstrations, said Janos Borsik, the chairman of the Association of Autonomous Labor Unions, according to Nepszabadsag.
