HP, Foxconn Turkey Plant Aims $1.5 Billion Sales, Milliyet Says

Foxconn Technology Co. Ltd. targets $1.5 billion sales annually at its Turkish plant where it will start making desktop and laptop computers for Hewlett-Packard Co. in the first half of 2011, Milliyet said.
The plant which cost $60 million in Corlu in northwestern Turkey will have 2.4 million-unit annual capacity and provide about 1,500 jobs, the newspaper reported, citing HP Turkey chief executive officer Serdar Urcar. Foxconn Turkey chief executive Tuna Kardes said 90 percent of the output will be exported to regional countries, according to Istanbul-based Milliyet.
