Turkish Minister Warns Alcohol Advertisers, Milliyet Reports

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said alcohol producers making advertisements that create a desire for alcohol were “exceeding their goals,” Milliyet said.

Babacan said Turkey’s government had an obligation to protect young people from alcoholism and to decrease drinking rates among them, the newspaper reported from Ankara. He said Turkey was not working to ban alcohol, Milliyet said.
