Middle East Investors in Talks to Buy Pistons, National Says
United Arab Emirates and Qatar investors are in negotiations with the U.S. National Basketball Association to buy the Detroit Pistons franchise, The National reported, citing David Stern, the NBA commissioner.
The association is in “direct or indirect discussions with at least three buyers in the Middle East” over the possible acquisition of franchises, the newspaper cited Stern as saying. The Detroit Pistons are valued at about $500 million, the National said, without identifying the investors involved in the talks.
