Iraqi Oil Minister al-Shahristani Said to Step Down, WSJ Says

Iraqi Oil Minister Hussain al- Shahristani will leave his position in the country’s new government and move into the new role of Prime Minister Nuri al- Maliki’s deputy for energy, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing Abdul Hadi al-Hassani, a member of Maliki’s Dawa party.

Hassani said Shahristani had gotten permission to take the post from the alliance forming the new Iraqi government, the newspaper said.
