Greece’s benchmark ASE Index was little changed, dropping 0.3, or less than 0.1 percent, to 1,474.05 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Athens.

Agricultural Bank of Greece (ATE GA) soared 25 percent to 84 euro cents, its biggest advance in 5 1/2 years. Greek Deputy Finance Minister Filippos Sachinidis denied press reports that the government plans to merge state-controlled Agricultural Bank, Hellenic Postbank SA and the Loans and Deposits Fund. Sachinidis said the state will participate in Agricultural Bank’s capital increase, according to the size of its stake. Hellenic Postbank’s shares rose 3 percent to 3.09 euros.
Lamda Development SA (LAMDA GA) rose 2 percent to 3.65 euros, its second day of gains. Consolidated Lamda Holdings SA, acquired 62,000 shares in the Greek property developer with a value of 212,000 euros ($279,000), according to an Athens bourse filing.
