Orascom May Bid for $3.2 Billion Serbia Telekom, Vecernje Novosti Reports

Orascom Telecom Holding SAE has registered for sales documents through its parent company Weather Investments SpA in the tender for a majority stake in Serbia’s Telekom Srbija AD, Vecernje Novosti reported, citing unidentified people in charge of the asset sale.

Weather Investments, expected to merge with Russia’s VimpelCom Ltd., may also bid after America Movil SAB, Deutsche Telekom AG, Telekom Austria AG and France Telecom SA also expressed interest in the Serbian company valued at 2.43 billion euros ($3.2 billion).

Telekom Srbija is 80 percent owned by the state and 20 percent by Greece’s Hellenic Telecommunications Organizations AS.
