Amazon Drops WikiLeaks Web Site From Its Host Servers, WSJ Says

Amazon.com, the world’s largest online retailer, stopped hosting the WikiLeaks web site on its servers after pressure from members of the U.S. Congress, the Wall Street Journal reported.

WikiLeaks confirmed it had been “ousted” from Amazon’s web hosting service and was now working out of a European server, accoding to a message on Twitter; Senator Joe Lieberman’s office contacted Amazon on Dec. 1 to ask why it was hosting WikiLeaks, and shortly afterwards the retail site dropped WikiLeaks, the newspaper said.
