Libyan Leader Qaddafi’s Chief of Protocol Arrested in France

Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi’s chief of protocol was arrested in France at the request of the Libyan authorities, a spokesman for the French Ministry of Justice said.

Nuri Al-Mismari was arrested Nov. 28 following a provisional request by Libya and presented to the prosecutor’s office in Versailles the next day, Bruno Badré said by telephone today. He will be held awaiting a formal extradition request, Badré said.

The spokesman said he didn’t have details of the reason for Libya’s request.
