Gabon Signs Contract With Isolux Corsan for Electricity Network

Spain’s Grupo Isolux Corsan SA signed a contract worth 22.7 billion CFA francs ($45.3 million) to build an electricity network for 33 villages in west and central Gabon, according to the African country’s Department of Energy.

Funding for the project will be provided by Societe Generale SA, Energy Minister Regis Immongault told a press conference today.

Gabon is aiming to raise the percentage of the population with access to electricity to 100 percent by 2020 from about 60 percent at the moment, he said.
