Czech Equities Rise From 5-Month Low as Erste, Komercni Advance
The Czech Republic’s main stock index rose the most in more than a month from its lowest level since July 1 as Erste Group Bank AG, Komercni Banka AS and Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. advanced by at least 2 percent.
The 14-member PX gauge jumped 1.5 percent to 1,123.3 as of 10:15 a.m. in Prague, its biggest intraday gain since Oct. 25. The benchmark fell 2.2 percent in the previous three sessions.
Erste, an Austrian lender, rose 2.7 percent to 769 koruna, ending a four-day selloff. Komercni, the Czech unit of Societe Generale SA, added 2 percent to 4,132 koruna. Broadcaster Central European Media, or CME, added 2.5 percent to 365 koruna.
