Equate Petrochemical to Capture CO2 From Facilities in 2012

Equate Petrochemical Co., a venture between Petrochemical Industries Co. of Kuwait and Dow Chemical Co., plans to capture carbon dioxide from its existing facilities starting 2012, the project execution manager said.

It will send the gas to Green Carbon Co. for industrial use, Abdullah al-Massoud told reporters in Kuwait today. The company also plans an $11 million water recycling plant, he said.

Equate’s CO2 capture project will cost $65 million, Vice- Chairman and Managing Director of Green Carbon Nafisi al-Nafisi said today.
