Montebourg to Run in French Socialist Primary, Le Parisien Says
Arnaud Montebourg, a member of the National Assembly of France for the Saone-et-Loire region, will stand as a candidate in the Socialist Party primary for France’s presidential elections in 2012, Le Parisien reported.
Montebourg is the third Socialist to declare himself a candidate after Manuel Valls, the deputy mayor of Evry, and Daniel Le Scornet, the former president of Mutuelles de France, the newspaper said. He made the announcement at a gathering in Frangy-en-Bresse, according to Le Parisien.
