Vietnam’s VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, gained for the first time in six days, climbing 1.2 percent to close at 430.72.
Mirae Joint-Stock Co. (KMR VN), which produces materials for the garment and textile industry, gained for the second day, rising 4.6 percent to 6,900 dong. Mirae won two contracts worth $824,000 in total to sell equipment, according to company filings to the exchange. The company expects the new contracts to double revenue from equipment sales.
Traphaco Joint-Stock Co. (TRA VN), a pharmaceuticals producer, added 0.9 percent to 43,500 dong. Traphaco’s net profit rose to 18.8 billion dong in the third quarter, up from 15 billion in a year earlier, according to a company statement filed on the bourse website.
Dong Hai Joint-Stock Co. of Bentre (DHC VN), which manufactures paper, rose 4.5 percent to 11,700 dong. Chairman Doan Van Dao registered to buy 200,000 shares to raise his holding in the company to 1.74 million shares, according to the statement on the bourse’s website.
