Apple Offers Two-Year Warranties for IPads in China, SCMP Says

Apple Inc. is offering two-year extended warranties for the iPad as a standard option in China, the first market where it does so, the South China Morning Post said, citing a customer service representative identified only by his surname Li.
China has categorized iPads as laptop computers, required under local rules to carry a two-year warranty for key components, the Hong Kong-based English-language newspaper reported today.
