B&W, Foschini, Gold Fields, Metorex May Move in Early Johannesburg Trading
The following stocks may rise or fall in South Africa. Symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last close. South Africa’s FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index climbed 123.81, or 0.4 percent, to 31,816.61 at the 5 p.m. close in Johannesburg.
B & W Instrumentation and Electrical Ltd. (BWI SJ): The construction group said profit fell 3.4 percent to 57.3 million rand in the year through August. The stock fell 3 cents, or 2 percent, to 1.47 rand.
Foschini Ltd. (TFG SJ): The South African clothing retailer will release first-half earnings. The stock gained 2.39 rand, or 2.8 percent, to 89.39 rand.
Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI SJ): Africa’s second-largest producer of the precious metal, faces another day of strikes at its South Deep Mine, after workers downed tools on Nov. 12 in support of their demand for the company to employ more black managers. Gold Fields retreated 1.90 rand, or 1.5 percent, to 121.66 rand.
Lonmin Plc (LON SJ): The world’s third-largest platinum producer meets with analysts following its annual results yesterday. The company surged 9 rand, or 4.6 percent, to 206 rand. Anglo Platinum Ltd. (AMS SJ), the largest producer, climbed 6.45 rand, or 0.9 percent, to 708.80 rand.
Metorex Ltd. (MTX SJ): The cobalt and copper producer said output at its Ruashi mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been curbed by recurring electrical faults and is operating at reduced throughput of 50 percent. Metorex declined 6 cents, or 1.2 percent, to 4.83 rand.

Anglo American Plc (AAUKY US) gained 0.1 percent to $24.14. AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (AU US) dropped 0.8 percent to $48.69. DRDGold Ltd. (DROOY US) rose 0.2 percent to $4.97. Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI US) decreased 0.9 percent to $17.16. Harmony Gold Mining Co. (HMY US) fell 1.4 percent to $12.01. Impala Platinum Holdings (IMPUY US) climbed 2.2 percent to $30.85. Sappi Ltd. (SPP US) declined 0.5 percent to $5.59. Sasol Ltd. (SSL US) rose 0.4 percent to $48.16.
