Vestas Wins Order for 32 Wind Turbines at Project in Idaho
Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the world’s largest maker of wind turbines, won the first order for its V100-1.8 megawatt model in the U.S. as it will deliver 32 of the machines to a project in Idaho.
Delivery will begin this year and commissioning is expected in the second half of 2011 at the Butte Wind project near Idaho Falls, Vestas said. The developer, Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems, may add additional turbines to the order bringing the total project size to 99 megawatts of capacity, Randers, Denmark-based Vestas said on its website today.
Vestas said earlier today it won an order in the U.K. for 14 turbines of its V80-2.0 megawatt model.
