Germany to Planned Increase in Energy Tax by $1.6 Billion, Schaeuble Says

The German government is proposing to scale back a planned increase in energy taxes for industry by 550 million euros next year and by 580 million euros per year between 2012 and 2014, Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said in a letter to German coalition lawmakers released by his ministry today.
