Groupe Aeroplan, Shaw Communications, Winpak: Canada Equity Market Preview

Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in Canadian trading.

Groupe Aeroplan Inc. (AER CT): The operator of loyalty- rewards programs had its rating cut to “sector perform” from “sector outperform” by Anthony Zicha, an analyst at Bank of Nova Scotia.

Shaw Communications Inc. (SJR/B CT): Canada’s largest cable and satellite television provider is scheduled to release fourth-quarter financial results before the market opens. The average profit estimate among 12 analysts in a Bloomberg survey is 34 cents a share, excluding certain items.

Winpak Ltd. (WPK CT): The maker of packaging materials said it earned 18 cents a share excluding some items in the third quarter. Kenric S. Tyghe, an analyst at Raymond James Financial Inc., had estimated the company would report profit of 18 cents a share, while Jason Zandberg, an analyst at PI Financial Corp., had forecast earnings of 21 cents a share.
