French Stocks Advance; Bic, Naturex, Sword Group Gain as Faurecia Declines

France’s CAC 40 Index climbed 20.98, or 0.6 percent, to 3,828.15 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Paris. The SBF 120 Index gained 0.5 percent.

The following is a list of companies whose shares either rose or fell in the French equity market. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

Bic SA (BB FP) rallied 3.8 percent to 63.76 euros. The maker of ballpoint pens reported a 26 percent increase in third- quarter profit to 61.1 million euros ($84.3 million), outpacing a 19 percent gain in sales.

Faurecia SA (EO FP) slumped 5.3 percent to 18.50 euros. One Equity Partners, a fund unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co., sold its 13 percent stake in Europe’s largest maker of car interiors at 18.20 euros a share.

Naturex (NRX FP) gained 4 percent to 43.69 euros. The producer of vegetable extracts said third-quarter revenue rose to 58.5 million euros from 22.9 million euros a year earlier. The company said it expects sales growth of 10 percent to 15 percent for the full year on a like-for-like basis.

Sword Group (SWP FP) rallied 3.4 percent to 26.48 euros. The technology-services company said third-quarter operating profit rose to 9.24 million euros from 7.11 million euros.
