Steven Winoker, senior analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., talks about General Electric Co.'s third-quarter earnings and the outlook for the company.
Third-quarter profit from continuing operations rose 29 percent to $3.16 billion, or 29 cents a share, from $2.45 billion, or 22 cents, GE said in a statement today. Revenue fell 5 percent to $35.9 billion, trailing estimates, on fewer wind turbine shipments.
