Fielmann May Expand Retail Chain by 200 Stores, CFO Tells Euro am Sonntag

Fielmann AG, Europe’s largest chain of opticians, may expand by up to 200 stores in coming years, Euro am Sonntag reported, citing Chief Financial Officer Georg Alexander Zeiss.

Fielmann aims to increase the number of stores in Germany and neighboring countries such as Austria and Poland to as many as 850 over the next five to seven years from 650 now, Zeiss said in an interview with the newspaper. The company also has a franchise partner in the Baltic states, the CFO said, citing “high demand” for optical products across Europe.
