Germany Lauds Peace Prize Winner Liu as `Brave Man,' Calls for His Release

The German government congratulated Liu Xiaobo, a jailed Chinese dissident, on being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Liu is a “brave man” who should be freed, government spokesman Steffen Seibert told reporters in Berlin today.
