Fibria Celulose, Gafisa, OGX Petroleo: Brazilian Stock Movers

The following companies had unusual price changes in Sao Paulo trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 4 p.m. New York time. Preferred shares are usually the most-traded class of stock.

The Bovespa Index climbed 0.2 percent to 70,384.92.

Fibria Celulose SA (FIBR3 BS) fell 1.2 percent to 29.09 reais. The world’s largest pulp producer fell as the UBS Bloomberg Constant Maturity Commodity Index dropped 0.4 percent.

Gafisa SA (GFSA3 BS), Brazil’s second-biggest homebuilder by revenue, rallied 2.7 percent to 13.86 reais. Economists raised their 2010 Brazil growth forecast for the fifth straight week, according to the weekly central bank survey published today.

OGX Petroleo & Gas Participacoes SA (OGXP3 BS) gained 2.3 percent to 22.70 reais. The oil company controlled by Brazilian billionaire Eike Batista rose to a record as the 76 percent premium on China Petrochemical Corp.’s purchase of a stake in Repsol YPF SA’s Brazilian unit implied a higher value for Brazil’s oil assets.
