The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in South Africa. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the last close.
South Africa’s FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index rose for a fourth day, adding 386.21, or 1.3 percent, to 29,456.04 at the 5 p.m. close in Johannesburg.
Anglo American Plc (AGL SJ): Copper rallied to the highest in more than two years, climbing as much as 1.1 percent to $8,098 a metric ton on the London Metal Exchange. Shares in Anglo, the diversified miner that makes up more than 9 percent of South Africa’s benchmark stock index, rose 5.25 rand, or 1.9 percent, to 283.25 rand. Shares in larger rival BHP Billiton Plc (BIL SJ) gained 3.13 rand, or 1.4 percent, to 225.14 rand.
Coal of Africa Ltd. (CZA SJ): The mining company said it posted a consolidated operating loss of $101.4 million for the 12 months through June. Shares in the company gained 5 cents, or 0.5 percent, to 9.55 rand.
Rare Holdings Ltd. (RAR SJ): The maker of pipes and valves reported a full-year loss of 58.1 million rand ($8.3 million), compared with a profit of 26.7 million rand a year earlier. Rare gained 2 cents, or 5.7 percent, to 37 cents.
Sasol Ltd. (SOL SJ): Oil rose to the highest in almost two months, climbing as much as 0.8 percent to $80.57 a barrel in electronic trading in New York. Shares in Sasol, the world’s biggest maker of motor fuel from coal, rose for a second day, adding 38 cents, or 0.1 percent, to 312.88 rand.
Sea Kay Holdings Ltd. (SKY SJ): The builder of low-cost homes in South Africa said it’s not yet in a position to publish its results for the year through June as is required by the stock exchange. Sea Kay said it expects to report its earnings by the end of October. Shares in the company fell 1 cent, or 9.1 percent, to 10 cents.
York Timber Holdings Ltd. (YRK SJ): The sawmill operator said full-year earnings per share excluding one-time items more than doubled. York added 3 cents, or 0.8 percent, to 3.78 rand.

(DROOY US) fell 0.8 percent to $5.19. Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI US) climbed 0.7 percent to $15.27. Harmony Gold Mining Co. (HMY US) fell 1.1 percent to $11.29. Impala Platinum Holdings Co. (IMPUY US) gained 1.3 percent to $25.93. Sappi Ltd. (SPP US) climbed 0.8 percent to $5.18. Sasol Ltd. (SSL US) fell 0.1 percent to $44.79. Telkom South Africa Ltd. (TLKGY US) advanced 2.6 percent to $21.75.
