UniCredit SpA, Italy’s largest bank, may appoint Roberto Nicastro, one of four deputy chief executive officers, to a new position of general manager, daily Corriere della Sera reported, without saying where it got the information.
The introduction of the general manager position at the bank would satisfy UniCredit’s banking foundation investors, Corriere reported. Nicastro also may be considered for the CEO job, following the resignation of Alessandro Profumo, the newspaper said. UniCredit declined to comment on the report.
