Goldman Sachs Said to Hire Lefevre as Asia Debt Syndicate Head

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. hired John Lefevre to be its head of debt syndicate in Asia, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Lefevre was previously with Amias Berman & Co. LLP, the fixed-income brokerage and advisory firm founded by two former Citigroup Inc. bankers, Jeremy Amias and Charlie Berman, the person said, asking not to be identified as details are private.

A Hong Kong-based Goldman Sachs official, who asked not be to be identified in line with company policy, declined to comment. Jeremy Amias confirmed Lefevre would be leaving the firm when contacted by telephone at his office in Hong Kong.

Lefevre will remain based in Hong Kong, and starts at the New York investment bank in October, the person said.
