BNP Paribas Names Julia Coronado Chief Economist for North American Unit

BNP Paribas, France’s biggest bank, promoted Julia Coronado to chief economist for North America.

Brian Fabbri, who previously held the post, has left the firm, BNP Paribas spokeswoman Edwina Frawley-Gangahar in New York said in an e-mail. A call to Fabbri’s cell phone wasn’t immediately returned.

Coronado joined BNP Paribas in July 2009 as a senior economist from Barclays Capital, where she spent three years, and previously worked for seven years on the Federal Reserve Board staff in Washington, according to an internal memo announcing her promotion. She has a doctorate in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
