Somalian-American Al-Shabaab Commander Is Killed by Shelling in Mogadishu

A Somali-American who was a military commander in Somalia’s al-Shabaab Islamist militia was killed last night in Mogadishu, the capital, the Information Ministry said.

The man, Dahir Gurey, was killed in shelling in the city, the ministry said in an e-mailed statement today.
