Gome Chairman Says He's Backed by Holders of 42% of Shares, Standard Says

Gome Electrical Appliances Holdings Ltd.’s managers have spoken to holders of 42 percent of the company’s shares and not a single fund manager has voiced support for founder Huang Guangyu over Chairman Chen Xiao for control of the company, the Standard said, citing an unidentified company spokesman.

Huang is seeking to remove Chen as chairman at a shareholders meeting scheduled for Sept. 28, the Hong Kong-based English-language newspaper reported today.
