Eskom Struggling to Secure Land to Expand Power Lines, Business Day Says
Eskom Holdings Ltd., South Africa’s state-owned power utility, is struggling to secure land to build more power lines and sub-stations in the nation, Business Day reported, citing Chief Executive Officer Brian Dames.
The company, which has a 385 billion-rand expansion program, said protracted negotiations with property owners over land rights for the new equipment remained a problem two years down the line, according to the Johannesburg-based newspaper.
