BAE, Credit Agricole, EADS, Shell, Unibail-Rodamco: Europe Equity Preview
Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in European trading tomorrow. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
The Stoxx Europe 600 Index rose 1 percent to 262.33. The Stoxx 50 Index gained 1 percent to 2,555.92. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark for nations using the euro, climbed 0.9 percent to 2,752.89.
BAE Systems Plc (BA/ LN): The defense company’s Chief Executive Ian King said the U.K. defense ministry asked it to provide a cost of its aircraft-carrier program as officials complete their first defense-policy review since 1998. The shares rose less than 0.1 percent to 323.3 pence.
Credit Agricole SA (ACA FP): The bank’s insurance unit agreed to buy Axeria Vie and April Patrimoine from Lyon-based broker April Group (APR FP). Credit Agricole shares fell 1.7 percent to 10.46 euros, while April declined 0.2 percent to 20.91 euros.
European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co. (EAD FP): The maker of Airbus aircraft wants to make acquisitions, particularly in the U.S., Reuters reported, citing comments by Chief Executive Officer Louis Gallois at a conference in Washington, D.C. A deal worth 1 billion euros is achievable, Gallois said. The shares fell 0.9 percent to 18.02 euros.
Iliad SA (ILD FP): The French government will raise the sales tax on Internet services to 19.6 percent, Wansquare reported, without saying where it got the information. Iliad shares rose 3.6 percent to 74.82 euros. Rival provider France Telecom SA (FTE FP) gained 1.1 percent to 16.26 euros, Vivendi SA (VIV FP) advanced 0.8 percent to 19.53 euros and Bouygues SA (EN FP) lost 0.4 percent to 32.03 euros.
Roche Holding AG (ROG VX): An experimental medicine being developed by Genentech, a unit of the world’s biggest maker of cancer drugs, may help a common chemotherapy drug kill cancer cells that are otherwise resistant to treatment, according to the study in Science Translational Medicine. The shares rose 0.4 percent to 143.2 Swiss francs.
Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA LN): Ukraine is in talks with Exxon Mobil Corp., Chevron Corp. and Royal Dutch Shell on exploring for natural gas in the country’s Black Sea, the country’s deputy fuel and energy minister said. The stock advanced 0.6 percent to 1,814.5 pence.
Unibail-Rodamco (UL FP): The real-estate investor said it plans to pay investors 20 euros per share on Oct. 12. The shares added 1.1 percent to 157.05 euros.
