Azoty, Polskie Gornictwo, PKO May Move: Central European Equity Preview

The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in central European markets. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names. Share prices are from the last close.

Poland’s WIG20 Index fell 0.4 percent, the Czech PX Index lost 1.4 percent and Hungary’s BUX Index declined 1 percent.

Azoty Tarnow SA (ATT PW): The Polish chemical company said its management board is recommending buying 150 million zloty ($48.4 million) of new shares in fertilizer maker ZAK SA. Azoty gained 2.2 percent to 17.89 zloty.

Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGN PW): Poland’s dominant gas company will file a new request with the country’s energy regulator to change gas prices as of December. Its shares rose 0.9 percent to 3.41 zloty.

PKO Bank Polski SA (PKO PW): Poland’s draft 2011 budget assumes that state-controlled Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego SA will sell an undisclosed portion of its 10.3 percent stake in PKO, the country’s largest bank by assets, Michal Boni, the senior adviser to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, said yesterday. Shares advanced 1.4 percent to 39.68 zloty.
