Telefonica to Bid for Costa Rica Mobile License, Economista Newspaper Says

Telefonica SA, Spain’s largest telephone company, will bid for one of three mobile phone license that the Costa Rican government is selling via auction, El Economista reported.

America Movil SAB de CV, Millicom Internacional Cellular SA, Cable & Wireless and Digicel Group Ltd. may also bid for the right to operate in the market of 4.5 million people, the newspaper added, without saying how it obtained the information.

El Economista didn’t say how much the companies may offer for the licenses.
