Citigroup Hires CICC's Lu to Boost China Equity Underwriting, M&A Business
Citigroup Inc. hired Lu Yin from China International Capital Corp. as director of its financial institutions group to focus on equity underwriting and acquisitions by Chinese companies, according to a company memo.
Lu will be based in Hong Kong and report to Zhao Jing and Simon Yoo, co-heads of the New York-based bank’s financial institutions group in the Asia-Pacific region, the memo said. Lu joined CICC’s investment banking team in 2001, it said.
James Griffiths, a Hong Kong spokesman of Citigroup, said Lu joined Citigroup last week and confirmed the memo’s content.
At CICC, China’s biggest Sino-foreign investment bank, Lu helped manage deals including China Construction Bank Corp.’s initial share offering, the memo said.
