Banco do Brasil May Help Finance Colombia Ethanol Project, Estado Reports

Banco do Brasil SA is likely to lend $223 million to Israel’s Merhav to help finance an ethanol plant in Colombia, O Estado de S. Paulo said, citing unidentified companies involved in the project.

The Israeli group will buy equipment from Uni-Systems, a Sao Paulo-based company, to build the plant, the newspaper said. The loan is the biggest private deal made by Proex, the Brazilian government’s export finance program, Estado said.
