Private health insurers in Germany may have to pay less for new drugs in the future, crimping drugmakers’ profit margins, the Financial Times Deutschland newspaper reported, citing an accord by lawmakers from Chancellor Angela Merkel’s ruling coalition.
Private health insurers should pay the same prices for new drugs as public health insurers, which benefit from government- regulated price rules, the newspaper said, citing an agreement reached by lawmakers yesterday.
