Kuwait Petroleum Signs Acid Gas Removal Contract With Maire Tecnimont

Kuwait National Petroleum Co. signed a 117 million-dinar ($407 million) contract with Italy’s Maire Tecnimont SpA for an acid gas removal project at the Mina Al- Ahmadi refinery.

“We signed today,” Mohammed al-Ajmi, a spokesman for the Kuwaiti state-run refiner, said by telephone. The contract is for three years, he said.

Mina Al-Ahmadi is the biggest of Kuwait’s three refineries and has a capacity of 460,000 barrels a day.
