Houston Texans Sign Matt Leinart to One-Year Contract, NFL Network Says
The Houston Texans signed free-agent quarterback Matt Leinart to a one-year contract, the National Football League’s television network reported on its website citing an unidentified person.
Leinart, 27, was cut by the Arizona Cardinals two days ago. He will serve as a backup to starter Matt Schaub.
Leinart was Arizona’s first pick in the 2006 draft. He completed 340 of 595 passes for 3,893 yards, 14 touchdowns and 20 interceptions in 29 appearances with the team.
