China to Inspect Vegetable Oil Stockpiles in Hubei as Trial From Sept. 25

China will inspect vegetable oil reserves in Hubei province as a trial project to help gauge the country’s overall stockpiles of the commodity, the State Administration of Grain said.

The project, starting Sept. 25, will check stockpile volumes and quality as well as the use of government subsidies, the agency said in a statement dated Aug. 31 posted on its website. Companies involved in the sector must seek to make information more available to the public, it said.

The project will be conducted in conjunction with the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance, the statement showed.
