BP Plc plans to flare gases from its Carson oil refinery in California until tomorrow, according to a filing with state regulators.
Flaring was to begin at 8:30 a.m. local time yesterday and last until 5 p.m. tomorrow, the company said in the Sept. 4 filing with the South Coast Air Quality Management District. The emissions are not related to a breakdown, it said.
BP planned to flare gases from Sept. 1 to Sept. 3, according to a separate filing on Aug. 27. The Carson refinery has the capacity to process 266,000 barrels of oil a day, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
