The FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index jumped 101.91, or 0.4 percent, to 27,942.89 in Johannesburg.
Amalgamated Appliance Holdings Ltd. (AMA SJ): The household appliances manufacturer and importer said it posted net income of 38.5 million rand ($5.4 million) in the fiscal year through June compared with a year earlier loss of 69 million rand according to a statement. The company’s stock was unchanged at 1.83 rand.
AVI Ltd. (AVI SJ): The food and cosmetics producer said it plans a special payment of 75 cents per share to investors, according to a statement. The stock was unchanged at 25.30 rand.
Remgro Ltd. (REM SJ): The investment holding fund with assets in FirstRand Bank Ltd., RMB Holdings and Unilever South Africa spins off its stake in Trans Hex Group Ltd. (TSX SJ). The share price fell 72 cents, or 0.7 percent, 101.20 rand.
Wilson Bayly Holmes-Ovcon Ltd. (WBO SJ): The building group releases fiscal full-year earnings. The company’s stock jumped 2.02 rand, or 1.8 percent, to 112.49 rand.
