Israel President Peres Says Middle East Peace Talks Had `Promising Start'

Shimon Peres, President of the State of Israel, said peace talks with Palestinians had a “promising start,” speaking to reporters in Cernobbio, Italy today.

Talks had a “surprisingly” promising beginning, Peres said, adding that “skepticism prevailed before.” Difficulties “are manageable, people are serious and I hope that this time it will wind up.”
